About the Department
The Department of History is one of the four departments offered at the beginning of the College. The study of history at RGM Government College is exciting and self-motivating with our qualified faculty members who are specialised in various areas in historical studies. The department is active in organising various programmes like workshops, seminars, guest lectures, field visits and other academic activities. All students have the space to develop critical thinking, historical sense and quest for antiquity and culture.
The Department has been offering B.A. programme from2012. The course covers themes in World History, Indian History, Kerala History, Historiography, Historical Methodology, Gender Studies and Human Rights. Two complementary papers of the programme are Economics and Sociology.
