The Literary Club of the college came into being in the academic year 2018-19. The Club has both the faculty and students of the College as its members and works with the aim of developing an interest in literature, nurturing creativity among students and promoting social awareness and social commitment.

Objectives:

  1. Building a community of creative and thoughtful human beings.
  2. Create awareness about several issues of local and global importance.
  3. Sensitize students to react constructively to injustice in modern society
  4. Inculcate socially desirable values such as empathy and cooperation.
  5. Acquire effective communication, leadership skills, interpersonal communication skills.

The literary club provides ample opportunities for the students to exchange their ideas and discuss about books and authors. It  provides them opportunities to listen to and converse with eminent writers and social activists. The club organizes a diverse array of literary activities such as debates, declamations, group discussions, poetry writing and recitation, short story writing, quiz contests, interactive/lecture sessions, etc. Through these activities, literary coordinators (student and teacher) reach out to language and literature lovers and try to create a space for sharing emotions and thoughts. Further, it encourages students to become orators and display their intellectual, independent thinking skills with confidence. The Group discussion and debating events will equip students with the basic skills of cracking the crucial rounds of any interview.
